Kedarnath Yatra By Helicopter – Booking Begins on April 1, 2023

The basic process is to get yourself registered. The registration has been under operation since February 21, 2023. Only such tourists need to register for the tour who are not from Uttarakhand. Locals need not register.

Tourists and travelers get two options for registration, i.e., online and offline. For online registration, follow the given steps:

• Go to the following link https://registrationandtouristcare.uk.gov.in Click on ‘register log in.’
• Fill up the personal details as per asked by the on-screen guidelines.
• When you fill-up the personal details, an OTP pops up on your mobile phone and e-mail. E
• You have to copy and paste the OTP to verify login registration.
• After having registered successfully, you can log in.
• To log in, go to the same website – https://registrationandtouristcare.uk.gov.in
• Enter your mobile number and password.
• Now, a personalized dashboard appears on the screen. Here, you must click the ‘add or manage tourists’ option.
• Add the place’s name, destination, and tour date to Kedarnath.
• After the entire registration process is complete, you will receive a message about the process being successful.
• Finally, you can download the registered form for the Kedarnath Yatra by helicopter.

You must have an Aadhaar card, Photo, and Health Certificate.

The registration process for the Kedarnath Yatra doesn’t require any money.

No. It is because the tour is available for those who have good health, are underage, and are fit. If you tick all of these criteria, you can register successfully.

Pregnant women, children under 13, and older citizens above 75 are not eligible to register for the Kedarnath Yatra by helicopter. Kedarnath Dham’s altitude is relatively high, so to avoid any risk associated with the journey, such tourists are not allowed.

The tour to Kedarnath begins from Haridwar because it is rich in railways, connecting many small and big cities of India. Once you have reached Haridwar, get a bus or taxi to go to Sonprayag (235 km) or Gaurikund (5 km)

When you reach Gaurikund, Kedarnath will be just at a walking distance of 16 kilometers if you can cover the distance on foot, well and good. If not, you can take a palanquin or horse. It takes around one and a half days to reach Kedarnath Dham from Gaurikund. You have vast options of resorts, hotels, and luxurious accommodations to stop in the middle.

Note: Tourists can also start the Kedarnath journey from Rishikesh instead of Haridwar.

For executing the Kedarnath Pilgrimage without any intervention, follow the given guidelines:

1. Wear an N-95 mask. Make sure you avoid going to crowded places as far as possible.
2. Try not to touch the mouth, face, or eyes more often.
3. Keep a handkerchief and cough or sneeze.
4. Keep water and paracetamol in your bag. Have it in case you have a fever or body ache. 5.    Eat healthily and exercise daily.

April 1, 2023, will be when the helicopter service bookings begin. Until now, the helicopter booking for Kedarnath Yatra was taken care of by Kedarnath Dham through Pawan Hans. But for 2023, the pilgrims can book the Heli service through the official website of IRCTC.

You can book a maximum of 6 seats from a single I.D. If you opt for a group tour, you can book 12 seats at a time from one I.D.

Kedarnath has several places to explore by air. Some include Gandhi Sarovar, Chandrashila, Vasuki Tal, Gauri Kund, Shankaracharya Samadhi, Son Prayag, Chopta, Ukhimath, Panch Kedar, Tungnath, Rudra Nath, Deoriatal, etc. Apart from these places, Kunds in Kedarnath is also included in the sightseeing. These kunds are Shivkund, Retkund, Hanskund, Udakkund, and Rudhirkund.

The four dhams of Kedarnath are all moored at high altitudes. These holy shrines are situated on the hill of the Himalayas range. Due to this, patients with diabetes and high blood pressure are at significant risk. Pilgrimages who climb up the Himalayas must be able to face low temperatures, high ultraviolet range, low air, and low oxygen.

Moreover, the oxygen and nitrogen levels in the Himalayas fall suddenly. Due to low oxygen, there could be an adverse effect on the body. The highly humid climate can also lead to dehydration. Such tourists who have diabetes or have high B.P. should not opt for the Yatra because the sudden drop in temperature can cause the veins of the heart to shrink – which is the reason for poor blood circulation.
