TOUR OVERVIEW

Tiruchirappalli or Trichy is a famous city in Tamil Nadu. Its name in Tamil means ‘Town of the respected Chira’ (a famous Jain monk). Some other names of the city are Tiruchi or Trichinopoly, as called by the Britishers. It is a very old city with many important temples, churches, monuments, and mosques.

It is seen as an important industrial hub with the presence of Bharat Heavy Electronics, Golden Rock Railway Workshop, Ordnance Factory Trichy, etc. It is also valued for its age-old character as the region has been under the dominance of all three major Tamil kingdoms namely Cholas, Pallavas, and Pandayas.

Day 01: Trichy Arrival

Our representative will receive you after you reach Trichy via train or plane. After this, we will head to the hotel in an air-conditioned car. The bookings will be done beforehand and our assistant will help you with the check-in formalities. After that, you can rest, so that you are ready for the next day’s sightseeing.

Day 02: Trichy Sightseeing

The day starts with breakfast at the hotel. After this we will start sightseeing, beginning with The Rock Fort Temple. The next stop is Ranganathaswamy Temple, dedicated to Ranganatha ( a reclining form of Vishnu Ji). We will also pay a visit to the Sree Jambukeshwara Temple, which is one of the five major Shiva temples in Tamil Nadu. It is about 1800 years old. The journey will come to an end after paying a visit to the St. John’s Church built in 1821. Finally, we will head back to the hotel for a good night’s sleep.

Day 03: Trichy Departure

After enjoying breakfast in the hotel, our assistant will help in checkout and dropping off at the airport/railway station for onward or return journey.
